It’s Pirate Week!

We are part of the Virtual Kids Book Club. Here they choose a theme with a related book, and then activities to go with it. The suggested activities are also divided into: sensory, alphabet, math, science, & imagination.

This week is Pirate week. We started it off with using one of our Kiwi Crates: Secret Agents. From this box we used the secret message pens. A & S had to decode the message.

From there they went to build their pirate boats. They spent a lot of time decorating their boats. Here we also used our secret message pens that show up under blacklight.

Hidden Art

Today I handed A & S this cardboard covered in aluminum foil & told them they had to figure our what was inside, WITHOUT opening it up.

It was interesting watching them try & figure out what to do. Finally she started pressing on it. Then her response was, “there’s a bump.” So I encouraged her to continue.

Finally she figured it out!
