STEM 3 Little Pigs

Today after school we decided it would be a great day to do our 3 Little Pigs Activity.

To prep for this I wrote down my ideas, did a bit of searching, and came up with my ideas. Here I have a few options depending on time & how it is going. The nice thing about this is I now have some ideas set for future days if needed. 🙂

File Folder Activities

With our part day school we find ourselves with some small chunks of time that are enough to do something but not enough time to really go home. Or, we need an activity to help them as I am making dinner. So I have created some File Folder Activities. These are things that they can do which are all contained within a file folder.

I printed off different activities (found a lot of ideas on Pinterest), laminated the pieces, taped them to the inside of a file folder, and then used Velcro dots so the pieces can move around but also stay in place.

Kiwi Crate: Music (& feelings)

Today we have been focusing on Feelings. (Happy, silly, scared, worried, strong, ect.) So the Kiwi Crate box fit right in today with Music.

We started by talking about what are ways that you can show emotion. They came up with things like: drawing, words, face (smile, frown), dancing. Then dancing lead us to talk about what you hear when you dance sometimes…music!

Space Exploration: Part 2

Our space exploration continues. Today we finally had some time to break out our paint. With our Kiwi Crate there were watercolor stickers of each of the planets. After reading the story that came with the kit, we talked about what each of the planets looked like (& had pictures for reference). Then A proceeded to paint the planets. S also painted some pictures.

Room On The Broom

Today is brought to you by Room On The Broom, by Julia Donaldson. I found this set of printablesand was excited to try it.

Dot Jumping

Today was cold, and the next few days will be downright frigid.  So, to help burn off some energy we used our dots for a few games.  This one she stood on the pillow and had to jump to the dot of the color that I called out. *GrossMotorSkills  #PracticingColors
