Cricut

Face Mask

Today I rummaged through my craft drawers & found elastic and cotton fabric. So I headed over to Cricut’s Design Space program and got to cutting. I followed Lorrie Nunemaker’s tutorial here. Initially I attempted to cut the fabric with my rotary blade but my Cricut Maker was not recognizing it today. (Very frustrating). So I went the other route and cut the template out of cardstock and then A helped me cut out the pattern.

Kindness Shirts

This year I made coordinating t-shirts for the cousins. The theme this time was Kindness. I picked colors, designs, & sails I thought would fit each of them. Then I created or modified the design in Cricut’s Design Space. Next I printed the designs on Infusible Ink. After wedding them, I prepped the shirts and used the Easy Press 2 to apply the design to each shirt. (Heat safe tape was handy to make sure the design did not move when applying). After letting it cool (it is hard to wait to see the design, especially the transformation of the colors with the Infusible Ink) I was able to reveal the completed shirts!

I love how each of them turned out and hope the kids like it at least a fraction of that. 😉

Until we create again. Kippis!

Kindness Tree

We have been trying to focus on kindness and respect. So today we have created our Kindness Tree. The goal is to notice and record kind acts by others. Not kind acts that you have done but kind things that you see others doing. We are part of a community and want to focus on seeing good in others and not just trying to get “bonus” points for yourself. The more you see good in others will hopefully help you practice good deeds on your own.

Personalized Phone Stand

So for Christmas I am getting my mom a phone stand, but I am using my Cricut to personalize it! (Don’t worry, even though I am writing it now, I will post it after she gets her present.) Well, actually I am going to print this out & send it along with the gift and then post it. 🙂

So I thought about things that my mom likes, sewing, roses, music, friends, to name a few. Then I looked at images and found a few I liked and played around with them. I ended up choosing a rose.

Then I weeded the extra vinyl away, used some Cricut transfer tape, and then was able to easily place it smoothly on the stand.

Next I decided to add an image tho the bottom of the stand. (That way even when a phone is on the stand you can still see some design.)

This I am very proud of because it is my first own original design works. It was a learning process and a few hiccups along the way, but it did indeed turn out as the vision in my head! Now she will always be able trip look at the stand and, phone on or off, see a reminder of my love.

I love you mom!

Rolled Paper Flowers -Cricut Maker

So I have been having a blast with my Cricut Maker. One thing I love about this is the ability to make things 3D. One way I have done this is by making 3D Rolled Paper Flowers.

First I got my pattern from Craftables. After downloading them I uploaded them to Cricut Design Space. I loaded cardstock and hit go.

After just a few minutes these were cut out.

New Cricut Maker

So recently I bought myself a Cricut Maker. (A smart cutting machine.) So after the sample card they suggested making I decided to try & make some decorations for our Fall/Halloween party.

(This one I framed and then added little battery powered wire lights behind it.)
