This month we are focusing on being Thankful and ways to show Kindness towards others. To help with this we have crated a Thankful Tree where the leaves are handwritten notes of what we are thankful for.
So to help spread this mindset we started our tree on our Family Diner night so our friends could join with us. I was very happy with how engaged everyone was and the time and thought they put into their leaves.

We were working on activities for the upcoming baby shower we are hosting. (Stay tuned for that post). This moment it was cutting tissue paper for woodland animal themed sun catchers. So A was having fun cutting & tearing the paper, (Fine motor) and then putting it in a large pink bowl. (Which can you believe I got in college and I still remember that?) Then A looked at it and said, “What happens if I add water to it?” (questioning) So….
I said, “Let’s find out!” So A ran and got the eye droppers and filled a cup of water and brought it over to the counter. A proceeded to slowly at first add water, then after a few times with the dropper, she poured in the rest. Then she sat there and played with it with her hands. (self-directed play)
I find it very interesting listening to her as she does these activities. (describing) Sometimes she makes up stories, sometimes she describes it to me. After a little while I asked her what happened with the water. She told me that it is like play-dough because it made a ball and it gets squishy. (observations) These are great observations!
